On December 16, 2025, Bishkek International Medical Institute hosted the scientific and practical conference “Current Issues of Surgery and Orthopedics.”
The conference opened with welcoming remarks from the BMMI administration. Speeches were delivered by BMMI Rector, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Alfiya Eldarovna Samigullina, and First Vice-Rector for Development and Investment, Candidate of Political Sciences and Professor of BMMI, Dilyara Urumbayevna Apezova.
The conference included presentations by faculty members on modern areas of surgery, gynecological surgery, regenerative medicine in orthopedics, and the use of the Pirogov interactive anatomical table in the educational process.
Presentations were delivered by faculty members of the Department of General Education and Medical Disciplines: Aruke Zhaparalieva, Diana Tagaeva, Kurvanzhan Dautov, and Umid Zakirov.
A separate part of the program was dedicated to student presentations. BMMI students presented reports on chemical burns, Cushing’s syndrome, reconstructive surgery, diaphragmatic hernias, the use of artificial intelligence in surgery, oncological diseases, and liver transplantation.
Following the student competition in the nomination “Best Report in Surgery,” the winners were announced.
1st place was awarded to Mandloi Vishal for the report “Diaphragmatic Hernias,” group GM-2-22s, 5th semester.
2nd place was awarded to Anbuselvan Prabhavathy for the report “Breast Cancer,” group GM-4-22s, 5th semester.
3rd place was awarded to Eswaran Dinagaran for the report “Reconstructive Surgery,” group GM-1-22s, 5th semester.
The event also included awards for BMMI faculty members based on their performance during the 2024–2025 academic year, as well as awards for students based on their academic achievements.
